Dr. Shannon Frank-Richter is a board-certified psychotherapist through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), holding credentials as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC). She is also a clinical fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). With nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare, she holds a Doctorate in Health Science and a CACREP-accredited master’s degree in counseling—the highest standard in counseling education. Dr. Frank-Richter is licensed in California, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada, providing virtual therapy across state lines.
Specializing in neurodivergence, trauma, and relational challenges, Dr. Frank-Richter integrates attachment theory into her humanistic, person-centered approach, empowering clients to reconnect with themselves and others. She encourages nature-immersion as an evidence-based wellness practice. In addition to private practice, Dr. Frank-Richter serves as a psychotherapist for Project Rebound, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization at San Francisco State University that supports students who were formerly incarcerated.
