Shannon Frank-Richter, DHSc, LMFT, LPCC, LMHC, LPC, NCC, CCMHC
Dr. Shannon Frank-Richter is a board-certified psychotherapist through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). She holds credentials as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC), and she is a clinical fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). With nearly twenty years of experience in healthcare, she earned a Doctorate in Health Science and a CACREP accredited master’s degree in counseling, recognized as the highest standard in counseling education. She is licensed in California, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada, and she provides virtual therapy to clients across state lines.
Dr. Frank-Richter specializes in neurodivergence, trauma, and relational challenges. She integrates attachment theory into her humanistic and person-centered approach to empower clients in reconnecting with themselves and with others. She incorporates nature immersion as an evidence-based wellness practice, and in her commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusive care, she earned certification as an Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS #950449).
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Frank-Richter serves as a psychotherapist for Project Rebound, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization at San Francisco State University that provides support to students who were formerly incarcerated.
Her clinical expertise in epigenetics, neurodivergence, attachment, and crisis management informs her work with generational and systemic trauma. She provides a tailored and strengths-based path to healing and long-term well-being.
